Equipment Help Desk

Native Mobile Application — Interactive User Guide, Tech Support & Service Platform

Hog Technologies manufactures the world’s most advanced pavement marking removal, surface preparation, and grinding equipment. Operators in the field need fast, reliable access to operational guidance, safety procedures, and technical support — often in environments with limited connectivity and high-stakes safety requirements.

This proposal outlines the development of a native mobile application for iOS and Android that serves as a comprehensive equipment help desk — delivering video-guided instructions, safety procedures, multilingual support, and direct communication with the technical support team.

Version 2: Video & Offline Detail

V1 delivers the full native app experience. Version 2 adds multilingual video translation, enterprise-grade streaming infrastructure, and offline capability for field operators.

HeyGen Video Translation & Lip-Sync

Existing English-language equipment videos are dynamically translated into Spanish and French using the HeyGen API. The original speaker’s lip movements are synced to the dubbed audio, delivering a natural viewing experience in each language without the cost of re-shooting content. Translated videos are managed through the admin backend alongside the originals.

Adaptive Bitrate Streaming

Video content is delivered via CDN with HLS/DASH adaptive streaming. The player automatically adjusts quality based on the operator’s connection speed, with small chunk temporary caching to ensure smooth playback even on variable cellular connections in the field.

Selective Offline Download

Operators working in remote areas can select which content to store locally: specific equipment guides, operation and safety videos, PDF manuals, and step-by-step instruction sets. Downloaded content syncs automatically when a connection is restored, with storage management and version tracking built in.

V2 scope and timeline will be finalized after V1 launch, based on real-world usage data, operator feedback, and a full requirements assessment. The V1 architecture is designed with V2 migration in mind — the backend API, content structure, and admin system carry forward without rework.
